Allyson J. Sullivan, DC FIAMA

Dr. Sullivan received her Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) from National College of Chiropractic in 1992 following the completion of her undergraduate studies at University of Connecticut. After experiencing the benefits of acupuncture for herself, she acquired certifications in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology through China’s Shanghai Institute. In order to better teach her patients how to reduce their stress, Dr. Sullivan trained in Mindful-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn.  She holds a fellowship in acupuncture from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture (FIAMA) and is board-eligible in Occupational Health and Ergonomics. Further, she has experience helping people with alcohol, cocaine, and heroin addictions, and she has completed additional studies in women’s health issues.

During her years of practice, Dr. Sullivan has effectively treated headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, sciatica, rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, anxiety, sleep disorders, allergies and sinus conditions, addictions, PMS, nausea from pregnancy, and many other ailments. In addition, she has had great success in facilitating labor and treating infertility, endometriosis, and menopausal symptoms.

Dr. Sullivan collaborates with western medical doctors on behalf of her patients when necessary, and she was the keynote speaker for acupuncture and pain management at the Biannual Pain Symposium at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  She has been featured in The Litchfield (CT) County Times, the Waterbury (CT) Republican, and on WDRC AM radio’s The Midday Magazine with Mary Jones.
